Jollibee, the fast-food chain scheduled to open Friday in Kahului, has announced a change in hours of operation along with a different grand opening time.
Its hours now will be 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; its originally announced hours were 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant’s grand opening will be at 9 a.m. at its Maui Marketplace location in Kahului.
A spokeswoman for the restaurant did not give a reason for the change.
The restaurant, popular in the Philippines, is famous for its fried chicken, spaghetti and unique specialties, such as peach mango pie. It will hold an advance tasting of its menu on Thursday for 50 people; there are more details about the advance tasting at Jollibee USA’s Facebook page.
On opening day Friday, the first 50 people in line to make a food purchase of $25 or more will be awarded one six-piece bucket of Chickenjoy, the special fried chicken, each month for a year, according to an announcement.
The restaurant also will award special Funko Pop! figures Friday to the first 50 customers in line carrying the most unique banners or posters with the hashtag #ItsOurTurn. The figurine is a special Jollibee in the national attire of the Philippines.
