Miranda confessed to Women's Health that she has been on almost every diet under the sun. "I did [Nutrisystem] for a month, and then got tired of it," she says. "You get tired of any diet. I've tried everything." It wasn't until she changed her lifestyle that she started losing weight. "I just literally would make grilled chicken breast, sweet potato salad. There was no miracle." For example, if a side comes with her meal, she chooses fruit over fries.

Miranda refuses to eat plain veggies. "I like broccoli with cheese, and carrots with ranch dressing," she told Women's Health. "It's just how I eat." Because she doesn't see the point of eating greens loaded with fat, she drinks a green juice daily. "So if I don't eat anything else green that day, I feel like I've got my green in."

"I hate running," Miranda confessed to Women's Health. "Like, in huge red letters: I HATE RUNNING." Instead, she run-walks, which involves running for one song and walking for the next. She also gets cardio in by hopping around doing jumping jacks or running up stairs.

Miranda doesn't just listen to her favorite popstars while she is working out, she uses them as fitspiration. "If I put on Britney, I can picture Britney's body, and I'm like, 'Oh! Faster!'" she says.

Miranda avoids keeping unhealthy snacks around and instead, "almonds and bananas" are the only snacks allowed on her tour bus, she revealed to Self. "I don't want Cheetos anywhere around me!" "There's serious nutrition power in the crunch of almonds,"  Toby Smithson, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES, FAND, Diabetes Lifestyle Expert with DiabetesEveryDay, and author of Diabetes Meal Planning and Nutrition for Dummies, told our sister site Eat This, Not That!. "Ounce for ounce, almonds are the tree nut with the most fiber (4 grams), vitamin E (50%of your daily value), and riboflavin (25% DV). They're also one of the highest sources of hard-to-get magnesium (20% DV). And, they offer 6 grams of plant protein in every healthy handful."

"The assumed number of pounds lost…? I don't even know! Like I have always said, it's not about a scale, it's about how you feel and how your jeans fit," Miranda wrote in an open letter to fans, after being accused of undergoing weight loss surgery. "I am proud to be a normal-size girl, and I want to encourage everyone to be confident at any size."

"I've been all sizes. My whole life, I've struggled with ups and downs in weight. I'm only 5'4" so weight shows quickly on me. I've hit a comfortable place; this is pretty much my size. I'm a size 6, give or take five pounds, depending on the day," she told Health. "It's so good to find your place. I don't like being onstage worrying about my body. That's the last thing I want to be thinking about. I don't give my best performance when I'm distracted by my insecurities."

Miranda is very laid back about her approach to health. "I don't have any rhyme or reason to my fitness routine or dieting. I've been on every diet. Every time I did low-carb, I would gain [the weight] back so quickly. Sometimes I have a couple weeks where I just drink beer and eat cheeseburgers. And then I'll go, "That was fun, but my stuff doesn't fit." Then I'll spend a month doing Pilates or riding a lot and running. I'm not a runner, but I'm trying to be one, she told Health.

Miranda "sometimes" works out with her fit husband. "He does a pity run with me, and then he does his real run. It's sad. These days, I just try to feel good about myself and know that I'm trying. And if there's wine and cheese, sometimes I have it," she told Health.
