LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Singer John Legend announced that he was rescheduling a series of shows while he recovers from an unspecified illness.

Legend, who is currently on the road with his “Darkness and Light” tour, took to Twitter to announce that he was postponing a series of upcoming shows in New Jersey, Maryland, and Connecticut.

“Just saw my doctor. I”ll be fine,” Legend tweeted. “I just need some rest. Will see you soon!”

“I want to personally apologize,” he added in a subsequent tweet. “I’ve gotten sick and need a few days to recover and rest my voice. I will get healthy and look forward to spending the evening with you as soon as possible.”

The new schedule for the affected dates is now:

July 25 – Merriweather Post Pavilion – Columbia, MD
July 27 – Foxwoods – Ledyard, CT
