Internet sensation Lewis Blissett is back with his sophomore single, ‘Killing Butterflies’.
Debuting on platforms today, ‘Killing Butterflies’ comes as the second taste of the 15-year-old’s menacing alt-pop sound after May’s debut single ‘Sick Thoughts‘.
“Wings, hearts, some things are meant to be torn apart” Blissett delivers with those infamous vocals that broke the internet ten times over, before dropping into a pounding electropop chorus. Delivered with a punch, this is the work of a young mind carving his space into the industry.
Parallels to fellow teenage pioneer Billie Eilish have been made by many ever since the youngster’s ‘idontwannabeyouanymore’ cover hit YouTube 10 months ago and pulled in an audience of 14 million. The snarling ‘Sick Thoughts’ undoubtedly nods to Eilish’s menacing pop flicks and now ‘Killing Butterflies’ comes with a pumping hook that could rival the American’s ‘bad guy’. But don’t underestimate Blissett, as his music video to ‘Sick Thoughts’ and social media feeds show, he’s an artist with his own voice.

Blissett pens the latest single alongside Yami and Siba, two names behind the teenager’s debut track, with Maria Hazell coming in too. With his collaborators sharing experiences with the likes of Charli XCX, HRVY, Mabel and ALMA between them, Blissett is a wise head on young shoulders when it comes to his musical direction.
Promising a music video for ‘Killing Butterflies’ next week, Blissett is currently Stateside working on more new music whilst also finding time to meet up with fans in New York. Now, just over a year since the former Voice Kids contestant’s vocals went viral, the singer’s audience of over a million online keeps on growing. And if ‘Killing Butterflies’ is anything to go by, that won’t be stopping anytime soon.
